Immigration

Exemptions for Travel and Entry

Apply for an exemption if you have a criminal conviction to declare, or a passport with less than six months validity.

Criminal convictions

Everyone visiting the Cook Islands must declare any criminal conviction. If you have one, apply for an exemption before you book.

Passports with less than six months validity

Your passport must be valid for six months or more beyond your departure from the Cook Islands. Immigration may exempt you from that requirement on application.

How to apply

Both exemptions use the same form. A fee applies.

We check requests Monday to Friday, 8:00am to 4:00pm Cook Islands Time.
